Athletes have a saying to describe a feeling that comes over them when they are working out, hard...the saying is "in the zone". You may have heard this saying used to describe the feeling of euphoria, a feeling of weightlessness that comes over one when performing from the right brain place, when one is completely immersed in the creative state.

A feeling that one can accomplish most anything with great power and reserve.

It is a place that one cannot force to the surface. In my daily life it happens only sometimes and is usually not planned for. That is how I feel most of the time when my struggles to create a work of art begin to pay off. When I get into a painting or a drawing - when the creativitiy is flowing and I feel that I am simply a conduit through which the subject flows.

Creating a piece of art...whether it be in acrylics or watercolour, a drawing in Prismacolor pencils, or an item of jewelry...is a passion of mine, it is a need in me. It is something I cannot ignore and must do regularly.

Formally trained too many years ago to mention, I have spent more recent years working in the jewelry trade, traveling and training under the watchful eyes of the likes of Don Andrews, Jane Hoffstetter, nationally known wildlife artist William Warren Dailey, Patrick Fanning, Charles Stasek, Phyllis Rapp, and attended the Cape Cod School of Art.

I love making art and I am very pleased that I am now able to benefit the work of Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County Spay and Neuter Program through my endeavors. I am happy to know you enjoy the result of my efforts. Thank you.
